Interior designers make indoor spaces functional, safe and beautiful by determining space requirements like appropriate planning, zoning, applying all elements and principles of design concepts and selecting essential and decorative items, such as colors, lighting, and materials which plays a major role in visual appeal of the space in individual mind. They must be able to draw, read and edit blueprints and required schematic and working drawings. They also must be aware of building codes, inspection regulations and other consideration, such as accessibility standards. This course includes all aspects expected to be a sound interior designer to perform a good and qualitative designer.

CAREER SCOPE:

 1. Working an interior designing or architectural firms as Interior designer, estimator, project executor etc.

 2. Working as a marketing executive and Design solution provider for ready made furniture showrooms, Kitchen                               Showrooms, Interior furniture manufacturing units etc.

 3. Working as 3D visualizers - CAD and 3D design provider.

 4. Working as an as an entrepreneur and opening own firm to design and execute residential and commercial Interior                     Design Projects

 5. Working as a Set Designer, Product Designer, Landscape Designer, Furniture Designer, Freelance Designer, Interior                     Consultant, Exhibition Set Designer etc.

PROJECT WORK

  • Flat/Apartment/Nano Housing Design - first year level

  • Bungalow/Raw house/Weekend House/Varied leveled spaces- at second year level.

 

COMMERCIAL DESIGNS

  • Retail/Showroom/Store Design-Second year level

  • Restaurant/Cafe/Fine dine - Second year level

  • Clinic/Spa/Parlors- Second year

  • Office Design- Second year

 

PUBLIC SPACE DESIGN

  • Emporium design/Super market/ Hospitality/ Institutional-third year level

  • Exhibition space design/Set design/Event space Design-Third year level

  • Furniture Design- Third year level

  • Product design-Third year level

 

OTHER ACTIVITIES
          Other areas of activities in the third year includes exhibitions, visits, attending various seminars and workshops, study tours, field                   visits, factory visits etc. This may be compulsory for students to attend at required time (occasionally at additional cost).

 

INTERNSHIP:

         Two months internship in the Advance diploma course is a compulsory component of the course. Our past students have                               successfully completed their internship at following places:

EXAMINATION PATTERN:

  1. Continuous internal assessment throughout the year

  2. Annual practical and theory exams

  3. Minimum passing marks is 40%

              Students failing or absent in the internal assessment will not be permitted to appear for final exams.
